Croatian vocalist Jana "Yannah" Veldevi is an old hand at the future jazz and broken beat game, having released numerous albums with producer Eddy Ramich on Compost Records. Here she refocuses, joining up with jazz-inclined bass music veteran Dave Jones (here using his familiar Zed Bias moniker) for a typically smooth set. In many ways, Jones' choice of music - a mix of loose, organic two-step, jazz breaks, post-dubstep warmth and bassy 4/4 rhythms - is reminiscent of his pioneering efforts as Phuturistix (and, to a lesser extent, pre coffee table Maddslinky). It suits Veldevi's confident vocal delivery, making Equillibrium a fascinating and undulating set of next level future jazz.
